Earpieces have become a commodity in our world now, used for listening to music, or for discreet communication. However most earbuds use a one size fits all approach, which ultimately means that they do not function as well as they could.
Custom earbuds have so far been limited by the cost of modelling the ear cavity and then the labour required to create and finish each piece. With 3D printing however, moulds can be edited digitally before printing, and multiple moulds can be printed at once. This leads to fewer remakes and also allows for additional customisation options.
