What a boring, tedious, slab sided pensioners special !
The suspension is very unforgiving, road noise even with non-chinese made tyres becomes tiresome after any more than 50 miles.
It is rated at 85 BHP yet feels gutless unless you hit 4000rpm in second gear. Interior plastics are black, grey and poor quality.
This heap has not been anywhere near as reliable as all the extant propaganda would like us to believe.
I just wish that i could buy an updated version of the Diahatsu Charade i had to trade in.

Their buyers want quiet operation and low down torque, which are the two most notable elements of electric motors. I guess it’d be hard to cross continents in an electric Rolls, but how many owners are doing that vs. getting ushered around town?

Strange. I ordered in March. My delivery date came forward from December, to November, and is currently showing as early October. Who knows when it will arrive.

What can I do now?

Comment on Production delays hamper new car sales in July by Stuart Masson https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/production-delays-hamper-new-car-sales-in-july/#comment-38801 Fri, 13 Aug 2021 17:40:53 +0000 https://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/?p=231361#comment-38801 In reply to ChrisS.

Hi Chris. Yes, it includes both fleet and private registrations. It’s entirely possible that VW has paused fleet sales due to production shortages and that could impact on registration numbers in the coming months. The data reported is always based on registrations during the month, so the cars registered in July could have been ordered months ago.

Hi Kev. You’re unlikely to receive an M Sport Pro version if you ordered a Premier Edition Pro. There’s no obligation for BMW to cancel your current order or switch you to a newer specification, but you can certainly kick up a fuss with your dealership. If you’ve ordered through a broker, however, its likely that you’ll be successful. It’s highly unusual for a new model to be substantially altered before deliveries have even started, so you’ve got nothing to lose by trying.

My expected delivery date has been pushed back until mid November. Do you think I will receive the updated M Sport Pro instead? I’m worried that I’ll receive my Premier Edition Pro and then a month later it will be an old shape. I’ve asked my supplier this question and can’t get a straight answer. Thanks, kev

Bought a used golf. 5 weeks after purchase it started smoking. Took it to my garage and they told me the egr valve arm has snapped and also found one of the coil springs snapped. Told dealer and he took the car back to repair it. It has now been 6 weeks. I don’t have the car back and keep being told new things from the dealer. Injectors etc… not sure what to do. Can I ask for a refund???
Thanks for your help,
Dean Holloway.

when i bought my last car it had thosae bolts to stop people nicking your tyres and wheels becassue they were expoensive i tols them tro rtake them off and ift an ordinary bolt on. then i said wanted a proper spare tyre nad the salsman was astonished and aked me if i could chasnge a wheel. so isaid can you not? he said he couldn’t so i said trhen you had better get into the maintenance shed and find out how to do it. but madam you have two years with the aa dfro . i repleid so i have just donw a conert and am driving back at night on my own( a woman) and i haved to wait ffor hours to have my car towed away . thank you car manufacturers. think of the women on their own in rural parts of the country. write to your members of pa\rliament about this . a carer of mine had to wait for 4 hours and then was told that ono one could take her car back to the garage 8 miles away . they could do it in the morning so what was she to do waitr in the car all night.?onm her own . on a dark rural road.? there is a safety issue here.

Hi Aaron, I am wondering how it all turned out for you. My first service with BMW has been quoted £500 for a basic oil change. Looking at my PCP documentation, it doesn’t say anything about having to service at the dealership. Just wanted to see if you had a positive outcome?
